The Rättvik Butchers welcomed the first cuban player in the club's history this weekend at Butcherfield. Marcos Antonio Macuran Garcia from Havana, Cuba moved to Sweden 2 months ago with his swedish wife and started to practice with the team last tuesday. After a 3 years break from baseball he wants to do his best to make a successful comeback with the Butchers. Marcos left his beautiful tropical island of Cuba to another beautiful island in Dalarna. He moved into a typical "Faluröd" house on the picturesque island of Sollerön in the middle of lake Siljan. Macos was a physical education teacher in Cuba and he is a great Salsa dancer too. His whole family is crazy about baseball and he said that his father will be pleasantly suprised when he will learn that he found a baseball club in Sweden. At the moment just a few players are able to communicate with him since Marcos speaks Spanish only. Of course this is making his integration diffcult, but his determination to learn the swedish language and to play baseball with the Butchers will help his integration. Bienvenido Marcos!
